This is always one of the most frequently asked questions from our clients and it is always a difficult one to answer. The usual rule of thumb is the more serious your injuries, the longer your claim will take. This is to make sure that you will fully recover from your injuries before your claim is settled. We will be able to secure you an interim payment to help you financially though and we will be able to discuss this with you when we meet.

Yes. At Shires Law, we pride ourselves on the service that we give to all of our clients and we believe that part of this service is trying, where possible, to meet face to face. So many firms of solicitors do not offer this as part of their service and we believe that you receive a poorer service as a result. Through meeting you and your family, often in your own home, we obtain a unique insight into the effects your accident has had, which enables us to represent you in a much more effective way.

If you are concerned about the way in which your claim is being handled you can raise your concerns with your solicitor. If you are not satisfied with their response you may want to consider a ‘second opinion’ from another law firm

We are very happy to discuss your situation and advise you on what we can do for you. You can then decide whether you wish to proceed with moving your case.

If you do decide to move your case to us you don’t have to worry about how this happens or how you will deal with your current solicitor. This is a very simple process and we will take care of all the necessary arrangements for you. All you have to decide is whether you wish to stay with your current solicitors or move your case to us.

This is the most common question asked by our clients and we will not be able to provide you with a definite figure at the start of the claim. You will need to have a medical expert examine you who will then give a prognosis on how long it will take you to recover. This will allow us to be able to value your claim. We have many years’ experience in personal injury claims which means we do all we can to maximise your compensation.

There are a number of options when it comes to funding personal injury claims and we will discuss these with you in detail when we meet you.

The government recently introduced a new law regarding funding for personal injury claims which means that we will are no longer able to recover all of your legal fees from the other side. This means that some of this shortfall will need to be covered by you.

You should not let this put you off from making a claim though. You are still able to recover the majority of your legal fees and without specialist knowledge from a solicitor, the Law Society of England and Wales says you may actually be paid two to three times less on your claim. To make it easy for you, you will only have to make a contribution once your claim has settled.

There are many different personal injury firms who you could choose to instruct, be we know that we have a different approach to many of the law firms out there.

We will come and visit you in your home so that you feel as comfortable as possible when we discuss your claim with you and it will help us to get to know how the accident has impacted on you and your family. We will explain in detail how you will be able to fund your claim and we will talk to you about how the claims process will work from start to finish so you will feel fully informed.

Our experienced team of personal injury solicitors will use all of their experience to ensure that you get the compensation you deserve and to make sure that you get the best outcome possible. We also offer you a free initial consultation so you can meet us and feel happy that we are the right firm to represent you.
